Trent D. Martin, M.D., A.G.A.F.
Dr. Martin was born and raised in western Canada. He earned his medical
degree at the University of Alberta School of Medicine, in Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada in 1983 and his Bachelor of Medical Sciences in 1981.
He completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Thomas Hospital
Medical Center in Akron, Ohio where he also served as Chief Medical
Resident. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Francis
Scott Key Medical Center, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
in Baltimore, Maryland in 1988. He is board certified in both Internal
Medicine and Gastroenterology.
As a practicing Gastroenterologist, Dr. Martin has a special interest
in diseases of the biliary tract, laser treatment of upper gastrointestinal
bleeding, preventative screening of gastrointestinal malignancies
and management of esophageal cancer. He is on the active staff at
Sentara Independence and Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. Dr. Martin is an Assistant
Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical
School.
Dr. Martin is married and has four children, Elizabeth, Alex, Will
and Isabelle. He enjoys youth soccer, snowboarding and spending leisure
time with his family. |
