Physicians
Brent W. Geissinger, M.D., F.A.C.G.
Dr. Geissinger was born in Philadelphia, PA. He received his B.S.
with Honors in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill in 1987. He remained in Chapel Hill to earn his medical degree
and then moved on to Nashville, TN where he completed his Residency
in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He completed
his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Wake Forest University, Bowman
Gray School of Medicine in 1991. He is board certified in both Internal
Medicine and Gastroenterology.
As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Geissinger has a special interest
in colon cancer screening and in raising public awareness of the
disease. He has given talks to local physicians to encourage screening
and has been a guest on "Ask the Expert" with Pasquale
Giovani on WTAR 850 AM Talk Radio. He also has interests in diseases
of the biliary tract, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease.
He is on active staff at Sentara Independence and Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. He is an active member of the American
College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association,
and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
In his free time you will find him either on the golf course or
spending leisure time with his three children. |
